CULTURAL VILLAGE
Immerse yourself in a spectacular showcase of Indigenous culture with the 2021 Masters Indigenous Games Cultural Village. Located at Lansdowne Park on the Great Lawn, the village will be within a 5-15 minute drive between all venues. The village will offer a celebration of cultural experiences through workshops, storytelling, and interactive performances, as well as daily demonstrations of various traditional games. After the demonstrations, visitors will be able to participate in any of the given traditional games, which will be inclusive and entertaining for the whole family to enjoy. The Cultural Village is free and open daily throughout the Games to provide visitors with daily educational, and family-friendly activities.
Lansdowne Park is a world-class attraction that blends modern amenities, courtyards, heritage buildings and green space. This urban public destination, situated right in the heart of the city offers programs on a year-round basis. It features events and activities for all ages and all seasons.
A number of traditional sport demonstrations will take place daily in the 2021 MIG Cultural Village where visitors will have the chance to watch demos and learn more about each sport and its history and then be able to participate after the demonstration takes place.
The 2021 MIG Cultural Village will feature a wide range of performances by Indigenous artists from around the world. Performances will take place throughout the three-day cultural village on the main-stage, with special showcases of world-renown singers, dancers, and performers every evening. Admission to the Cultural Village will be free of charge and open to the public. A schedule of performances will be shared closer to the Games.
The 2021 MIG Cultural Village will also feature a vendors’ village showcasing a variety of Indigenous traditional handicrafts, arts, natural foods and wellness items, jewelry, clothing and merchandise.
